Follow below the processes involved in reclaiming a crankshaft.
Step 1
On occasion when a crankshaft journal is damaged and a replacement crankshaft cant be found we are able to reclaim crankshaft journals.
Firstly the crank is machined and prepped to enable a new metal surface to be applied.
Step 2
The crankshaft is sprayed with a compound to replace the metal that has previously been ground away.
Step 3
The new metal surface is inspected and checked for imperfections.
Step 4
Finally the journal is ground back to the required size.
